Samuel Muñeton Jr. joined ESDC in January, 2022, after serving as a Community Business Ally at Allies for Community Business (A4CB), where he connected business owners with investors and networking opportunities, provided financing and business coaching services to small business owners, and reviewed and processed applications for installment loans and lines of credit. In prior years, he assisted business owners with creating and refining their business plans, while developing new opportunities for growth. He also trained small businesses on how to use LivePlan software for business planning and financial projections. When he was a Community Lender at A4CB, he allocated financial support ranging from $500-$100K to businesses and processed applications to distribute emergency financing during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the start of his career in the nonprofit sector, he also completed a grant-making internship at McCormick Foundation where he analyzed non-profit and funding infrastructure in south Chicago suburbs to develop a grant-making strategy for low-income communities. He also evaluated grant applications and made grant-funding recommendations to senior leadership. He is currently serving as our Director of Small Business, and manages the Neighborhood Business Development Center at ESDC.
